Un-bear-able

Thomas has now gone 11-0 vs. Ottawa.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

And think, we face the Bruins two more times in the next 10 games.

Ughhh.

Well, the good news was Snoopy.  He looked good in net, and here’s hoping Elliott getting the call ahead of him gets him going, because if the defense plays anything like they did in the first period tonight, he’s gonna have to be sharp…VERY sharp.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a player stand in front of the net, with a defenseman on either side of him, and not even get touched.  Nice D Kuba, you sure are showing #65 the ropes.  I’m getting more than a little tired of the gentle giant routine, methinks somebody is happier cashing checks than throwing them.

Honestly, what more can be said?  That was a horrendous performance, and Clouston needs to be kicked in the pants for going to Elliott ahead of Leclaire.  I’m not saying they would have won with him in nets, but going to your back-up, in one of the biggest games in the standings?  Honestly, I don’t get it, it’s not like Elliott was tearing it up before Pascal came back, and do you really want to start playing around with goaltending at this point in the season if the back-up isn’t standing on his head?  A bad call, IMO.

Shake it off, and move on.

At least those below them in the standings lost as well.  Talk about a missed opportunity.

Kuba has to go, seeing him on the ice worrying about breaking a nail makes me want to vomit. I believe he was on the ice for all 4 of Boston’s goals.

And not only that – he stinks as our PP quarterback. Just absolutely useless on the blueline. He makes poor, slow decisions with the puck and hardly ever shoots the puck.

I know Meszaros isn’t lighting it up in TB, but that trade looks worse and worse by the day. The fact Murray re-signed this Charmin softie when he actually had trade value at the deadline has me wondering about Bryan’s decision making abilities…

I think I hate Kuba more than I hate Heatley. At least that cancer left and brought us Michalek.

    • DT, who is this Heatley you speak of?
As for Kuba…he deserved that signing, and the money…but he doesn’t now. He might be a prototypical “money” player. Played to get the money, not the other way around. To be fair to him, he isn’t playing with any quality either, not that this excuses his play, but defense is a pairing, and to date, he hasn’t really had a “pair”…in more ways than one!

When Alf comes back I`d play him on DEFENCE!

    • I’m of two minds on this Nik. I do like Alfies shot on the point, but he also draws a lot of attention down low….I’m assuming you mean on the PP.
If you mean full time…well, it couldn’t be worse, but I’ll take it as tongue in cheek!

  3. Tough one. Leclaire soiled the sheets in the last game. Elliott came in and allowed only 1 and earned the win. So he got the start. You could argue that since Leclaire is the starter he should have been given the chance to bounce back, but it’s moot now.

Lesson learned, but the boys need to get back to playing simple D or playing full out high tempo balls to the wall hockey if they are going to have a chance at the postseason. The road games may be the difference between 89 and 96 points (9th,10th and 7th, 8th).

Need to be .500 on the road to have a shot.
