Sens Ground Flyers.

What a great game.

The Sens may be out of the post season, but they served up some entertaining hockey for the resilient home crowd.

Tonight displayed a truly solid performance from the blueline.  Volchy was up in the play all night, and God love him for it, stone hands and all.  Bell and Camps were moving the puck slickly up the ice, and all defenceman did a tremendous job keeping the play alive from the offensive blueline.  Defensively, considering the firepower on the Flyers roster, they were very good, as 1 of the 3 goals against was a P.S.

Shannon was solid on every shift, this kid is leaving it all out there to earn a regular role next season, and if it were up to me, I’d sign him now.  Foligno also played an inspired game, and dogged the puck on every shift, forcing turn-overs and generally frustrating the break-out attempts of the Flyers Dmen.  My only criticism would be reserved for Heater.  His play of late has reduced him to a one timer pony, and tonight he couldn’t even do that well.

Auld was good (although the Gagne goal was a bit suspect), and came up big a few times in the third to keep the game alive.

I’ll take some time tomorrow to go over the stats from the past few games, and post a more in depth look then.
